The focus of my work has been an investigation of the human nature with an emphasis in the study of the individual and social parameters that shape us psychologically. In my latest work I explore the notion of the uncanny, the fearful or disturbing hidden aspects of the self that were once unknown and have become familiar. I employ glass objects and video projections in order to construct private fantasy spaces where the secret memories, desires or anxieties of the self are subject to the public gaze. My aim is to bring the audience on the threshold of different existential planes and place them in a silent position between confidante and voyeur. I incorporate glass objects within interactive installations where the participation of the viewer is required for the work to take its final form. I am interested in the conceptual interplay that can be created between diverse media like video and glass. What fascinates me is the ghostly effect that the moving image creates on the glass surface. I find parallels in the way that the glass transforms and distorts the projected moving image with those delicate, liminal states of the human mind.
